MEET THE EXECUTIVES

LEP Group of Restaurants

AND THEN THERE WAS THREE...

My passion...restaurants! As President and founder of LEP Group my journey started at the age of 14 when I got my first job as a bus boy. I moved up the ranks until in my early 20's I decided I wanted to own a part of what I was so passionate about. I opened my first restaurant when I was 25. A young kid with a lot of heart but a lot to learn! It's been 8 years since Ric's Grill opened its doors downtown. Since then, LEP Group has opened The Copper Pot and most recently Soda Jerks Retro Grill. All 3 are unique in their own way and as a whole offer something for everyone. It our goal that our guests receive the highest quality of food and service at all our locations. We take great pride in ensuring that each guests' experience is truly memorable.

LEP Group named after my initials (because at the time I couldn't think of anything more clever!) is a huge part of my life. The other parts are filled with my wife and our 4 kids! Life is busy but I wouldn't change anything!

I was born in Edmonton but moved to the west coast as a young boy. It was there that I started my career from the bottom up. Over the past 17 years I have worked in everything from hotels to catering to many different restaurants all shapes and sizes. Now back in Edmonton I have teamed up with another visionary Lance Popke to create new and superior dining experiences for our guests. I am a self taught chef who has learnt from my vast epxerience working alongside many talented managers and co-workers. Through my travels and never ending quest for knowledge I bring a creative outlook to my menus.

The first ingredient of success - making good decisions - has no real value without the second, which is practicing good discipline. Let's face it: Everybody wants money, yet few want to work hard. Successful people conquer their feelings and form the habit of doing things unsuccessful people do not like to do. The bookends of success are starting and finishing. Decisions help us start. Discipline helps us finish.
